UNGAVA moves into new building

UNGAVA  announces its moving into new installations located at 4535 blvd. Hamel in Quebec City.

The new LEED building was built by Immeubles Simard last year and is unique with its triangular shape.

“For the last 30 months, we especially focused on R&D. But with the actual projects and recent hiring, we did not have enough space and it was affecting the productivity,” explains François Mainguy, CEO of UNGAVA.

The new techno-industrial premises feature a simple, contemporary design, with StarWall glass walls for all offices and workshops. Mr. Mainguy is very enthusiast with the look of the new place: "I once read an article in Business Week, in 2005, that was showing the Steve Jobs and Jonathan Ives’s work space at Apple. We could see a CNC with drawing tables, and glass walls. I thought that one day I would really like to have something similar for my team."

He adds: "Designing products requires maximum concentration. I wanted to provide my team with an ideal work environment. Also, we now welcome visitors more often, and, with the addition of new machine tools, we definitely needed a much larger workplace. Mr. Simard understood and shared my vision from the beginning. " For the furniture, UNGAVA teamed with Pouliot-Leclerc, a well-known company in the Quebec area.

UNGAVA is specialized in the design and manufacturing of portable instruments for test and measure, for different industries. For certain markets, UNGAVA commercializes under its brand. For others, it has OEM customers and products are commercialized with their own logo.
